The Corona virus hasn’t stopped at Syria’s borders. Despite the rigorous containment measures to prevent the spread of infections, the project team managed to obtain a state permit on the basis of which the bakery construction activities can proceed. Work is thus still progressing, albeit a little bit more slowly, because due to the Corona restrictions, various building materials can currently be produced only in small quantities. We keep hoping and praying that the bakery production line and equipment will be installed in late May / early June and that the bakery will be put into operation in late June. The local people, who have been pushed into even deeper poverty by the Corona crisis, are eagerly waiting for the start-up of the bakery.
